Introduction to Greek: Part 1 Led by John Juneman, this course introduces students to the
basics of Greek grammar for the purpose of aiding in the study of the
New Testament. Part One introduces the basics of understanding foreign
language, reading Greek, and the fundamentals of nouns and adjectives,
prepositions and prepositional phrases, articles, conjunctions,
particles and negatives. The use of sources, especially in regard to
word definitions, is also discussed. Special emphasis is given to
understanding Greek as a tool, with the real goal being satu¬ration in
the Word for the purpose of knowing Jesus. More extensive grammar,
including verbs, will be introduced in Part Two later this fall (October
28 through December 9). It is important for students to pre-register for
this course so that they may receive materials and instructions.
Each
session approximately 50 minutes in length. E-mail discussion during the
week, facilitated by Nathan Johnson and Stephen Manley.
Christology: Part 1
Led by Stephen Manley, this course will explore the opening chapters of
Matthew to understand the revelation of the Person of Christ, who is
central in Christianity. Knowing who He is as revealed in the Word of
God is essential to a growing relationship with Him. Attention will also
be given to the concept of Jesus as the “prototype,” and the
ramifications for the message of the gospel and our living experience.
Students will be encouraged to saturate in the Word in their own lives
so that Christ may be more than a theology, but the living Person at
work in their lives
The purpose of the Cross
Style Training Center is to train students to be reproductions of the
Cross Style message. We are message-driven. Every aspect of the
training center and the training itself is focused exclusively on the
message. The Cross Style message is not a doctrine or creed. It is the
New Testament message of living in complete response to the indwelling
and resourcing presence of the Person of Jesus. He is the
message as He proclaims and demonstrates Himself through us. Therefore,
the heart and substance of the training is focused on equipping students
in the exposition of the Word. As the Word is exposed, He is revealed
and the message is proclaimed. The goal is the reproduction of this
expositional style of life in as many people as possible in as many
locations as possible throughout North America. In this way, Cross
Style Training Center has a facilitating function. The purpose is to
facilitate or “seed” the message in every church or venue available in
order to allow for a nationwide movement of the message across a variety
of denominations, churches and organizations.
